Hey, I’m Mary. Thanks for stopping by. Curious about what I’m doing here?
In a nutshell – I’m a mom to two teens. Pushing 40 and single for the first time since I was 16. Wondering what I really want to do and be now that my kids are gaining independence.
I love talking about travel, personal development, pushing comfort zones, and anything else that makes life better.
And I suppose that’s what brings me here. I want to live life better. More authentically. For my life to be a true reflection of who I am and what I enjoy doing.
What do I want?
Freedom. Travel. Experiences.
Cool weather, overcast days, and rain.
The beach and the mountains.
To wear Chuck Taylors and jeans like a uniform.
The ability to hop in the car with a cup of strong coffee in my hand and go for a drive. Somewhere. Anywhere.
A career that I can immerse myself in. Be passionate about. And that I can do from a coffee shop or a hotel room or a tiny RV.
To see the US and the rest of the world.
And most of all, to never, EVER settle for “fine.”
I’m committing to 90 minutes a day of conscious work on improving my life. I’m choosing three subjects to start with – freelance writing, photography, and mandolin.
That’s what this blog is about. Learning new skills and figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.
So pull up a chair, pour another cup of coffee, and let’s do this.
